ZRP Intensifies Security Measures to Ensure Public Safety During Festive Season

In an effort to reduce crime rates and road carnage, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has deployed additional personnel to various locations across the country to maintain peace during the festive season.

A statement from the ZRP revealed that adequate measures have been put in place to ensure public safety throughout the holidays. Police are urging stakeholders, particularly transporters, to exercise caution while driving. The public is also advised to refrain from keeping large sums of money at home or in offices to prevent robbery and related crimes.

Additionally, the ZRP stressed the need for compliance with the law when using fireworks and other potentially dangerous gadgets, noting that the use of fireworks must be communicated to local authorities and the police in advance.

Measures such as heightened roadblocks, traffic blitzes, stop-and-search operations, motorized and cycle patrols, and increased police presence in leisure areas are being implemented to ensure safety during the season.
