Written by on December 23, 2024

Mukuru, a leading financial services provider, has been granted a Deposit-Taking Microfinance Institution (DTMFI) licence by the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ). The licence will allow Mukuru to expand its efforts to promote financial inclusion, particularly for underserved groups such as SMEs, women, youth, people with disabilities, and rural communities.

Mukuru Chief Executive Officer Andy Jury underlined that the new DTMFI license aligns directly with Zimbabwe’s national financial inclusion strategy, championed by the RBZ.

Commenting on the same event, CEO of Mukuru Zimbabwe Financial Services Doug Tait-Knight highlighted how the licence will help the company deliver digital financial solutions that address the unique needs of its customers.

The company aims to use its trusted brand and extensive network to provide innovative services that will improve access to financial resources and help communities across Zimbabwe enter the mainstream economy.
