ZimTrade Focuses on Manufacturing and Tech Ties with Belarus

ZimTrade Chief Executive Officer Mr. Allan Majuru has outlined a strategic shift in the economic relationship between Zimbabwe and Belarus, aimed at creating direct connections between private and state-owned companies from both countries to pinpoint areas of competitive production.
In an interview on the sidelines of the Business Roundtable that concluded yesterday, Mr. Majuru explained that the focus is moving beyond simple trade transactions towards deeper scientific and economic collaboration with Zimbabwe, particularly interested in leveraging Belarus’ advanced technology and equipment to boost its industrial capabilities.
The Director General of the National Centre For Marketing of Belarus, Mr. Mikalai Barysevich, confirmed that cooperation between the two countries is already “in full swing,” with numerous projects currently underway.
He highlighted Belarus’ strong capacity in producing a comprehensive range of agricultural machinery, including tractors and harvesters, which are in high demand within Zimbabwe.
