ZIMRA Tightens Export Rules for Enhanced Compliance
Written by Staff Reporter on March 17, 2025
The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) is implementing new export documentation requirements, effective this Monday, to bolster compliance and streamline trade.
Exporters and clearing agents are now mandated to provide double-stamped consignment notes, waybills, bills of lading, Form No. 1, or equivalent documents, as proof of loading goods destined for export. This move reinforces Section 63(1) of the Customs and Excise (General) Regulations of 2001.
ZIMRA aims to enhance regulatory oversight and prevent shipment delays through these stricter guidelines. By ensuring comprehensive documentation, the authority seeks to improve the accuracy and transparency of export processes.
Exporters and clearing agents are strongly advised to familiarize themselves with and adhere to these new rules to avoid operational disruptions. This initiative is part of ZIMRA’s ongoing efforts to strengthen Zimbabwe’s trade compliance and facilitate efficient export procedures.
