Zimbabwe’s Tourism Sector Receives Festive Boost

Zimbabwe’s Tourism and Hospitality Industry Minister, Barbara Rwodzi, has launched a “meet and greet” initiative to promote tourism during the festive season. This move aims to showcase Zimbabwe’s hospitality and attract more visitors.
Minister Rwodzi joined tourism teams at Kazungula Border Post, Victoria Falls Border Post, and Victoria Falls International Airport to welcome international tourists. She applauded her team’s dedication, urging them to maintain exceptional standards in facilitating seamless visitor experiences.
International tourists have expressed their desire to complement Zimbabwe’s branding as a premier tourism destination. Rwodzi’s initiative highlights Zimbabwe’s commitment to creating memorable first impressions and strengthening its reputation as a prime destination.
Private Practitioners Association of Zimbabwe has been promoting medical tourism in India and Botswana. This initiative aims to partner with institutions having world-class facilities to boost health tourism.
Zimbabwe has surpassed its US$5 billion revenue target for 2025. The National Tourism Recovery and Growth Strategy aims to make Zimbabwe a prime tourist destination. The Victoria Falls Area Tourism Development Plan, launched with the International Finance Corporation, enhances tourism infrastructure.
Rwodzi deployed Deputy Minister Tongai Mnangagwa to Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo International Airport. Other officials, including Director for International Tourism Douglas Mavhembu, Director for National Convention Bureau Tessa Chikaponya, and Director for Destination Management Mary-Anne Situma, welcomed French travelers.
At Beitbridge Border Post, Secretary for Tourism and Hospitality Industry Takaruza Munyanyiwa led efforts to welcome travelers and share information on must-see destinations.
Through partnerships and investments, Zimbabwe aims to boost health tourism. The Medical and Dental Private Practitioners Association’s efforts complement the Ministry’s initiatives.
Zimbabwe’s vision is to become a prime international tourist destination, leveraging unique natural, cultural, and heritage assets.
Minister Rwodzi and officials extended warm hospitality to visitors, showcasing Zimbabwe’s welcoming spirit.
