Zimbabwe–Sri Lanka Relations Strengthened

Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh, Her Excellency Stella Nkomo, recently presented her credentials to Sri Lankan authorities, officially beginning her diplomatic mission in the country.

The visit included high-level engagements with Sri Lanka’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tourism and Foreign Employment, focusing on strengthening bilateral ties in trade, tourism, and cultural cooperation.

Ambassador Nkomo also met with Sri Lanka’s main Chambers of Commerce, where she outlined Zimbabwe’s investment potential in key sectors such as agriculture, mining, and infrastructure.

Last month, she presented her credentials to His Excellency President Mohammed Shahabuddin, assuming duties as Zimbabwe’s Non-Resident Ambassador to Bangladesh.

Her appointments reflect Zimbabwe’s commitment to deepening international partnerships and advancing economic diplomacy, in line with the Second Republic’s re-engagement policy under President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa.
