Zimbabwe pushes for removal of unilateral coercive measures at UN conference

The government of Zimbabwe has pushed for the removal of unilateral coercive measures at the United Nations International Conference on Sanctions, Business and Human Rights which concluded on Friday in Geneva.
Addressing the conference Minister of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Honourable Ziyambi Ziyambi highlighted the devastating impact the unilateral coercive measures have had on Zimbabwe’s economy and citizens, restricting trade, limiting foreign investment, and hindering access to international credit.
He cited that the removal of unilateral coercive measures is crucial for Zimbabwe’s economic growth and development with the country seeking to level the playing field and create a more favorable business environment.
The two day conference which seeked to address the negative impact of unilateral coercive measures on human rights began on the 21st of November and ended on the 22nd in Geneva, Switzerland.
