Ministry of ICT Plans to Integrate Human Capital into AI Framework

The Ministry of Information, Communication Technology, Postal & Courier Services (ICTPCS) has announced plans to incorporate human capital into Zimbabwe’s upcoming artificial intelligence (AI) framework policy.
Speaking at a consultative breakfast meeting on the country’s Draft National AI Policy Framework at the Potraz headquarters yesterday, Minister Tatenda A. Mavetera emphasized that the new policy will not overlook the role of people in the country’s technological advancement.
The minister also stressed the importance of equipping Zimbabweans with the necessary knowledge and skills to contribute meaningfully to AI-driven growth. Highlighting that integrating human capital into the framework would ensure that citizens can thrive and play a pivotal role in the nation’s development.
Once approved by the cabinet, the policy will position Zimbabwe to align with global AI standards, fostering innovation across all sectors of the economy.
