Zimbabwe National Army Assures Public: No Cause for Alarm During Routine Training Exercise

The Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) has issued a reassuring message to the public, urging citizens not to panic or misinterpret the ongoing military field training exercise taking place in Harare. This routine drill is a pivotal part of the army’s operational preparedness strategy and reflects their commitment to public safety.

Commencing on Tuesday and scheduled to conclude on June 6, the training maneuver is being conducted in several neighborhoods, including Glenview, Glen Norah, Kuwadzana, Dzivarasekwa, Mt Hampden, and Westgate. Residents may notice military movements along Solomon Mujuru Road, formerly known as Kirkman Road, as soldiers partake in essential drills designed to refine their skills and coordination.

Colonel Hlengiwe Dube, Director of Army Public Relations, emphasized that these exercises are carried out exclusively during daylight hours and are specifically designed to minimize disruption to the daily lives of citizens. “We want to assure everyone that this is a normal practice for army units and is crucial for enhancing operational readiness and ensuring public safety,” Colonel Dube stated.

The ZNA remains dedicated to maintaining open channels of communication with the community, ensuring that residents feel informed and secure during this period.
