The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has reiterated its zero-tolerance policy on any form of abuse verbal or physical directed at match officials, emphasizing the need for discipline, mutual respect, and integrity in the game.

In a statement issued yesterday, ZIFA urged players, coaches, club officials, supporters, and the broader public to respect and protect match officials who serve as custodians of the rules and spirit of football.

The association stressed that disagreement with officiating decisions does not warrant misconduct and warned that any breach of acceptable conduct would attract disciplinary action.

ZIFA further called on clubs, supporters’ groups, and community leaders to champion a culture of professionalism and safety within Zimbabwean football, ensuring a conducive environment for all participants.

The association’s firm stance is aimed at preserving the integrity of the sport and fostering a positive footballing experience across all levels of the game.
