Caught Cheating, Hwange Man Assaults Wife During Confrontation

A 64-year-old Hwange man has been convicted of physically assaulting his wife after she caught him at his girlfriend’s residence.

The incident occurred on 17 April 2025, when the woman followed her husband to a house where he was allegedly visiting his mistress. A heated confrontation ensued, during which the man turned violent striking his wife all over the body and kicking her repeatedly.

Appearing before the Hwange Magistrates’ Court, the man was ordered to pay a fine of USD200 or face three months in prison. An additional three-month sentence was suspended for five years on condition of good behavior.

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has once again warned the public against using violence to resolve disputes, noting that many murder cases stem from similar domestic confrontations. The NPA stressed the importance of peaceful conflict resolution and the protection of life within families.
