The International Renewable Energy Conference & Expo 2025 officially opened at Elephant Hills Hotel in Victoria Falls, drawing global energy stakeholders, policymakers, and innovators under one roof to deliberate on sustainable energy solutions for the future.

Delivering the welcome remarks at the high-level event was the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution for Matabeleland North Province, Honourable Cde Richard Moyo [MP], who underscored Zimbabwe’s growing commitment to green energy development and regional cooperation in climate-conscious industrialisation.

In his address, Hon. Moyo expressed gratitude for the selection of Victoria Falls as the host city, highlighting its strategic location and potential as a future hub for eco-tourism and sustainable investment. He noted that the conference comes at a pivotal time when countries across Africa and beyond are scaling up efforts to transition from fossil fuels to cleaner, renewable alternatives.

“The presence of distinguished delegates from across the globe is a testament to our shared commitment to a sustainable future,” said Moyo. “Matabeleland North Province welcomes all participants and looks forward to fruitful discussions that will chart a new path for renewable energy partnerships and technology transfer.”

The conference will feature exhibitions, expert panel discussions, and bilateral meetings, with a focus on solar, hydro, wind, and bioenergy innovations, as well as investment opportunities in Zimbabwe’s renewable energy sector.

Organisers anticipate the event will serve as a launchpad for tangible action, policy alignment, and long-term cooperation across borders to tackle the pressing challenges of energy access and climate change.
