Zimbabwe Future football stars shine at CAF Schools event

The CAF Schools competition, held at Petra College in Bulawayo, successfully concluded its mission to select the under-15 boys and girls squads to represent Zimbabwe in Namibia.
The two day tournament, held from August 16-17, witnessed an impressive display of talent from Zimbabwean athletes. Chiedza Khumalo, a young and gifted player from Mpopoma, emerged as the top goal scorer and was also crowned the best player of the tournament.
Meanwhile, Nash Select dominated the competition, claiming gold medals in both the boys’ and girls’ categories.
Minister of state for Provincial affairs in Bulawayo Honourable Judith Ncube in her speech read on her behalf by Miss Beula Gwaze, expressed her appreciation for the tireless efforts of teachers in promoting sports among students, which plays a crucial role in preventing youths from engaging in drug and substance abuse.
Meanwhile, the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) donated 10 footballs to each participating school in the tournament, a move aimed at fostering the development of young talent and enhancing the overall standard of football in the country.
