Zimbabwe Eyes Economic Growth Through Trans Kalahari Corridor

Written by on May 28, 2025

Zimbabwe’s participation in the Trans Kalahari Corridor is expected to boost economic growth and deepen regional integration, Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Dr Jenfan Muswere has said.

The corridor, which connects Namibia, Zambia, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, is poised to offer Zimbabwe improved access to global markets, increased trade volumes, and harmonized trade practices.

Addressing journalists during a post-Cabinet briefing, Dr Muswere said the initiative aligns with Zimbabwe’s export strategy and Vision 2030, which seeks to expand value-added production and ease the movement of goods.

Dr Muswere added that joining the corridor is anticipated to improve the country’s trade balance, stimulate economic activity, and cement Zimbabwe’s role in regional economic frameworks.
