The Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC) has announced that there will be a temporary shutdown on its prepaid electricity token purchase system as from December 31, 2024, at 5:00 pm to January 1, 2025, at 6:00 am.
In a statement, this temporary shutdown is necessary for the company’s annual system maintenance on the prepaid vending system and as a result, customers will not be able to purchase electricity tokens during this period.
Public is advised to buy sufficient electricity tokens in advance to sustain them during the service disruption as maintenance takes place.
