ZPA Raises Concerns Over Rising Bus Fares
Written by Staff Reporter on December 28, 2024
Zimbabwe Passengers Association (ZPA) has expressed concern over the recent hike in bus fares, citing that it is unfair to increase prices during the festive season.
ZPA General Secretary Paul Makiwa stated that the sudden increase in bus fares without notifiying the public has caused difficulties for passengers when travelling.
Makiwa stated that some routes have seen price increases, with fares rising from $5 to $7-$9 and from $15 to $25.
He appealed to the government to intervene and control the rise in bus fares, emphasizing the need for public consultation.
