Written by on September 23, 2024

Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe – Youth Invest, a local non-profit organization, is set to host a public meeting at Chinotimba Hall aimed at empowering marginalized youth and women in the community.

The event will focus on building the capacity of these individuals to participate effectively in local governance through issue-based advocacy, civic engagement, and capacity building training.

The meeting will provide a platform for youth and women to gain a deeper understanding of local authority policies and functions through rigorous information sharing on local radio stations, social media, radio listening clubs, and community meetings.

By strengthening access to information, Youth Invest aims to enable marginalized communities to meaningfully analyze and influence decision-making processes.

The event is expected to foster collaboration, innovation, value addition, and cultural diversity among citizens, particularly youth.

By encouraging active participation in local governance, Youth Invest seeks to create a more accountable and responsive community.

The meeting will feature three ward councilors, Loyce Ncube, Daniel Moyo, and Priscilla Mhlanga, as guests of honor. Youth Invest’s vision for the event is to create “A generation of development-oriented youth capable of positive socio-economic impact.”
