ZIMRA Enforces New Parking Regulations to Ease Beitbridge Border Congestion
Written by Staff Reporter on September 24, 2024
The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) has introduced new parking regulations at the Beitbridge border to address congestion caused by trucks lacking proper clearance documents.
In a statement released earlier today on their official social media platforms, the authority said all trucks without completed documentation must park at designated truck stops until their paperwork is processed, effectively immediately
Citing that this measure aims to reduce bottlenecks in the customs control zone, where many South-bound trucks have been parking prematurely, occupying space meant for fully cleared vehicles.
To ensure compliance, ZIMRA will impose fines on trucks found parked within the zone without the necessary clearance or those entering the queue prematurely. Truck operators are urged to follow the new guidelines to avoid penalties and ensure smoother border operations.
