VP Moans Over Death of Cde Chenhamo Chimutengwende

Vice President Constantino Chiwenga has expressed deep sorrow following the death of former legislator and cabinet minister, Cde Chenhamo “Chen” Chakezha Chimutengwende, who passed away due to a kidney ailment.
In a statement on behalf of President Emmerson Mnangagwa, Chiwenga offered condolences to the Chimutengwende family and the nation. He highlighted Cde Chimutengwende’s significant contributions to Zimbabwe’s liberation and governance. In honor of his legacy, Chiwenga announced that the President, in consultation with the Politburo, had granted Cde Chimutengwende national hero status.
Cde Chimutengwende began his political career at just 14 years old, served as a Member of Parliament for Mazowe, held key cabinet positions, and represented Zimbabwe at the Pan African Parliament. He will be buried at the National Heroes Acre in Harare on Wednesday, alongside Brigadier General Solomon Siziba.
