Temba Mliswa Appeals to High Court Over ZIFA Candidacy
Written by Staff Reporter on January 21, 2025
Temba Mliswa is appealing to the High Court to have his candidacy for Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) president reinstated. Mliswa is challenging the election process and the validity of the new ZIFA statutes being used for the upcoming presidential election on 25 January.
The court application was transferred from the Bulawayo High Court to Harare, where the case will be heard by Justice Tawanda Chitapi.
Mliswa is one of five candidates disqualified by the ZIFA Electoral Committee after failing to meet the association’s eligibility criteria. Justice Chitapi will also oversee the case of another disqualified presidential candidate, Walter Magaya.
