Understanding Colonialism Key to Africa’s True Liberation and Prosperity, says Murwira

Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Professor Dr. Amon Murwira, has highlighted the critical need for Africa to deeply analyze the origins of colonialism and the mechanics of conquest to fully comprehend the essence of true liberation.
He made these remarks during the 62nd Africa Day celebrations which were held under the theme “Justice for Africans and People of African Descent, through Reparations.”
Speaking at the gathering, Minister Murwira emphasized that understanding these historical forces is paramount for the continent’s journey towards genuine freedom and self-determination.He highlighted that a truly prosperous African society hinges on its capacity to leverage knowledge, skills, and technology.
This, he explained, is essential for producing sufficient food, shelter, communication, healthcare, and innovative infrastructure – all vital components for enabling happy and fulfilling lives across Mother Africa.
Crucially, Minister Murwira asserted that these societal advancements are linked to the continent’s rich heritage, encompassing its vast mineral resources, fertile soils, abundant land, favorable climate, water bodies, diverse flora, thriving livestock, and unique fauna.
