UK Dentists Provide Free Dental Services in Victoria Falls

A team of dentists from the United Kingdom has been offering free dental services to residents at the City of Victoria Falls’ Chinotimba Clinic. The health outreach, which commenced on Monday and concluded yesterday, has provided much-needed oral healthcare to the local community.

This initiative marked the first health outreach in Zimbabwe by Smilestar UK Dental, a UK-based dental charity. The organization, led by its founder and Trustee, Dr. Mitesh Badiani, chose Victoria Falls as its first point of engagement in the country. The visiting team comprised of 14 dedicated dentists who joined hands with local specialists and doctors from Victoria Falls, Harare, and medical professionals from Cimas.

With the invaluable assistance of the city’s health staff, the team has been able to deliver a range of dental services, including tooth extractions, tooth cleaning, and gum health checks. In addition to dental care, some individuals also received reading glasses as part of the outreach efforts.

Yesterday morning, approximately 400 people from Victoria Falls and surrounding areas had benefited from the program. The initiative has been met with immense appreciation from the community, many of whom lack regular access to dental healthcare.

The partnership between Smilestar UK Dental and local healthcare providers underscored the importance of collaboration in addressing health disparities. As the outreach came to an end, the impact of this initiative will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on the residents of Victoria Falls, fostering better oral health and overall well-being.
