The Traffic Safety Council of Zimbabwe (TSCZ) and the Zimbabwe National Road Administration (ZINARA) have issued a joint statement urging pedestrians to prioritize their safety while walking along roads.
In a post on X, TSCZ and Zinara highlighted that this collaborative effort is aimed at reducing road accidents, by promoting essential pedestrian safety tips. These guidelines are designed to minimize the risk of accidents and ensure a safer walking experience for all.
In the statement, the safety tips highlighted included walking on the right-hand edge of the road, facing oncoming traffic, walking in a single file when in groups of more than two, using pavements, footpaths, or sidewalks whenever possible, holding children’s hands while walking, and wearing brightly colored clothing at night to increase visibility.
Through the joint initiative, The TSCZ and ZINARA aim to demonstrate their commitment to promoting road safety and reducing accidents in Zimbabwe.
