Thunderstorm Destroys Home in Monde: Urgent Appeal for Community Support.

On Tuesday, November 12, a devastating thunderstorm struck the village of Monde, located approximately 15 kilometres from Victoria Falls town. The storm’s intense lightning resulted in a house being burned down to ashes.

The owner of the house, Thelma Gurure, reported that everything inside was completely destroyed in the blaze.  The Meteorological Services Department, in partnership with the Department of Civil Protection, had issued warnings that Zimbabwe will experience rainfall this week.

Appealing to the community and donors, the owner Mrs Gurure is seeking assistance to rebuild her home. She expressed hope that kind-hearted individuals and organizations can step forward to help her in this time of need. Those willing to assist may contact her directly at +263 71 372 1577.

The public is still advised to exercise caution during this period. In areas experiencing heavy rainfall, individuals should avoid crossing flooded streams or rivers and refrain from standing under trees during the rain.
