SADC Sends Observers to Namibia Ahead of Elections

The Southern African Development Community (SADC) has deployed an Electoral Observation Mission to Namibia to monitor the upcoming elections.
In a statement issued today, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of Tanzania and Chairperson of the SADC Organ on Politics, Defense, and Security Cooperation, confirmed that the team will oversee the pre-election phase, polling day, and post-election processes to ensure Namibia’s adherence to SADC principles and guidelines for democratic elections.
Dr. Suluhu Hassan emphasized Namibia’s reputation for peace and its tradition of conducting elections with minimal challenges while upholding democratic values. She expressed confidence that this peaceful nature would continue during the elections.
