Public Service Commission Warns Against Stay-Away Calls
Written by Staff Reporter on April 22, 2025
The Public Service Commission (PSC) has issued a firm warning to public servants against participating in the planned stay-away on April 22 and 23, 2025, labeling the action as unpatriotic and detrimental to national development.
In a statement, the PSC confirmed that both dates are normal working days and emphasized that all public servants are expected to report for duty unless officially on leave. It warned that failure to do so would be considered a dereliction of duty and insubordination, subject to disciplinary measures.
The commission stressed the importance of maintaining service delivery and supporting national progress, particularly as the country advances towards its Vision 2030 goals.
This warning comes amid growing calls circulating on various platforms urging public servants and other citizens to boycott work and daily activities during the two-day period.
