Finance and Economic Development Minister, Professor Mthuli Ncube, has praised Pro Plastics, a Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE)-listed manufacturer, for its successful retooling, which has been facilitated by key government policies.

Minister Ncube highlighted Pro Plastics’ production of high-quality plastic pipes and fittings used in industries such as mining, construction, and agriculture. He noted that the company’s investment in advanced technology and automation is driving its growth and setting a positive example for Zimbabwe’s manufacturing sector.

The Minister also emphasized the role of government policies in supporting industrial development. He specifically pointed out the duty-free incentives for manufacturers, which are designed to reduce production costs and improve the competitiveness of local businesses.

He further highlighted that just Pro Plastics’ $25 million turnover demonstrates Zimbabwe’s economic potential and, with continued support and strategic investments, the company could see its revenue double in the near future.

The Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to creating an environment conducive to business growth, with a focus on sustainability and industrial expansion.
