ZIFA Names 29-Member Provisional Squad for WAFCON Qualifiers

The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has announced a 29-member provisional squad for the 2026 Confederation of African Football (CAF) Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers. The squad, led by Head Coach Sithethelelwe “Kwinji 15” Sibanda, comprises four goalkeepers, seven defenders, eleven midfielders, and seven forwards drawn from local and international clubs.

The goalkeeping department includes Vanessa Langa (Chapungu Queens) and Lindiwe Magwede (Herentals Queens). Defenders called up include Nokukhanya Ndlovu (FC Platinum Royals) and Nobukhosi Ncube (Chapungu Queens), while the midfield is headlined by Patience Ndlovu (Highlanders Royals) and Emmaculate Msipa (Ramat HaSharon, Israel). Among the forwards, Ruvimbo Mucherera (Maccabi Hadera, Israel) and Mitchel John (Harare City) will spearhead Zimbabwe’s attack.

The 2026 WAFCON will feature 38 teams vying for 12 slots in the final tournament, set to take place in Morocco from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026.
