His remarks were made at the Zimbabwe Local Government Association’s All Councillors Indaba held in Harare on Tuesday.

In his address, President Mnangagwa encouraged councillors to collaborate more effectively and strengthen their policymaking skills to better serve the nation. He emphasized the importance of leadership in driving transformative change within local communities, urging councillors to excel in their responsibilities.

The Indaba, themed “Strengthening Local Authority Systems for Vision 2030: No Compromise to Service Delivery,” focused on enhancing local governance as Zimbabwe works towards achieving its Vision 2030. The event tackled key issues affecting local governance and service delivery across the country.

Attended by councillors from all 92 local authorities, along with various stakeholders from the local governance sector, the Indaba aimed to bolster the capacity of local authorities. It also provided a platform for councillors to share their achievements, while receiving guidance and direction from the Central Government on how to improve service delivery and governance.
