President Mnangagwa pays an official visit to SADC Secretariat Headquarters

President Emmerson Mnangagwa, who is also the current Chairperson of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), has arrived in Gaborone, Botswana, where he will pay an official visit to the SADC Secretariat Headquarters.

During his visit, President Mnangagwa will engage with SADC Secretariat staff, meet and address them alongside Botswana President Duma Boko.

The President’s itinerary also includes ceremonial activities, such as unveiling a visiting placard and exploring the Julius Nyerere SADC Library’s History Collection.

Strategic briefings will also be held, where President Mnangagwa will receive updates on SADC priorities, regional integration progress, and emerging issues. Furthermore, he will provide guidance on SADC programs, including directives on implementation and future development.

One of the highlights of the visit will be the Handover Ceremony, where President Mnangagwa will oversee the official transfer of the SADC Headquarters building under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) agreement.

Additionally, he will preside over the Ground-breaking Ceremony to initiate the construction of the SADC Standby Force Regional Logistics Depot (RLD) at Rasesa village.
