President Mnangagwa Chairs Final 2024 Cabinet Meeting, Focuses on National Priorities

President Emmerson Mnangagwa today presided over the final Cabinet meeting of 2024 at State House in Harare, addressing key issues affecting Zimbabwe.

He commended stakeholders for their efforts in containing the cholera outbreak earlier this year, noting the success of multi-sectoral interventions in safeguarding public health.

The President also reviewed the Food Deficit Mitigation Programme, confirming ongoing grain distributions to those affected by the El Niño-induced drought declared a State of Disaster. The initiative aims to secure food supplies for vulnerable communities.

In the energy sector, President Mnangagwa acknowledged the current electricity shortages caused by reduced power generation at the Kariba Hydropower Station. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to renewable energy projects to address the crisis and promote sustainability.

The meeting highlighted the government’s focus on health, food security, and energy resilience as Zimbabwe prepares for 2025.
