President Mnangagwa Assesses Production at Carousel Edgars Factory

President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa today visited the Carousel Edgars clothing factory in Bulawayo to evaluate its production capacity and industrial growth.

The Carousel factory is a key player in Zimbabwe’s garment manufacturing sector, employing over 550 people and supplying Edgars, its subsidiaries, and other retail outlets nationwide. Speaking during a media briefing, President Mnangagwa highlighted the importance of industrialization in driving economic progress.

He also acknowledged the factory’s newly installed machinery, which has enhanced production efficiency. The Edgars Group—comprising Edgars Stores, Jet, Carousel, and Club-Plus—has experienced growth in recent years, bolstered by advanced equipment, including sewing machines, a garment printing press, sand dusting and reaping machines, and pocket inserting machines.
