The Southern African Development Community (SADC) will host a Cluster Meeting of Ministers responsible for Transport, ICT, Information, and Meteorology on 28 February in Harare. The meeting will review policy frameworks and assess the progress of regional infrastructure programs.

Ministers will evaluate progress since the last sectoral meeting in June 2023 and discuss the implementation of decisions from the SADC Summit and Council of Ministers. The agenda includes updates on the SADC Regional Indicative Strategic Development Plan (RISDP 2020-2030) and the Short-Term Action Plan (STAP) II under the Regional Infrastructure Development Master Plan (RIDMP 2012-2027).

Zimbabwe’s Minister of ICT, Postal and Courier Services, Dr. Tatenda Anastacia Mavetera, will chair the meeting. Ms. Angèle Makombo N’tumba, SADC Deputy Executive Secretary for Regional Integration, will represent SADC Executive Secretary Elias M. Magosi.

Key discussions will focus on expanding broadband connectivity, improving disaster management, and enhancing trade facilitation along major corridors, particularly the North-South Corridor, which links shipping ports to industrial hubs.
