The National Railways of Zimbabwe (NRZ) has issued a warning about a fraudulent train driver course advertisement circulating on social media.
The scam allegedly involves Tatenda Ruze, who asks applicants to submit their details via a Gmail account and make payments to an Ecocash number (+263782406319).
NRZ has distanced itself from the scam, emphasizing that it does not use free email services like Gmail for official communications and only accepts payments through authorized bank accounts.
The NRZ further stressed that it would never request payments through personal mobile numbers. Victims of the scam are urged to report to the nearest police station immediately.
