Motorists Urged to Prioritize Road Safety Amid Continued Rains

As persistent rains continue across Zimbabwe, the Traffic Safety Council of Zimbabwe (TSCZ) has called on motorists to prioritize road safety and strictly adhere to traffic laws to prevent accidents.
In light of the hazardous weather conditions, Lucy Kuwandira-Mapfumo, the Media and Corporate Communications Officer for TSCZ, urged drivers to follow traffic light signals carefully. In areas where traffic lights are not functioning, she advised that vehicles should give precedence to those approaching from the right.
The TSCZ also emphasized the importance of exercising extra caution while driving, encouraging motorists to reduce their speed and use lower gears to maintain better control of their vehicles. This is especially important in ensuring smoother traffic flow and preventing accidents on slippery roads.
The council also stressed that a collective effort from all road users is crucial in preventing fatalities and injuries caused by road accidents, particularly in adverse weather conditions.
