Written by on June 25, 2025

The Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training is proudly participating in the 2025 National Disability Expo, currently taking place from the 25th to the 27th of June in the iconic city of Victoria Falls. This year’s expo is being held under the powerful theme: “Accelerating Disability Inclusion Now: A Collective Responsibility,” a call to action for unified and sustained efforts in integrating persons with disabilities into every sphere of national life.

The Ministry’s presence at the Expo affirms its commitment to ensuring that youth empowerment, skills development, and vocational training programs are inclusive, accessible, and transformative for all young people—including those living with disabilities.

In alignment with the theme, the Ministry’s exhibition is showcasing a wide range of inclusive initiatives, including adaptive skills training models, youth entrepreneurship programmes tailored for persons with disabilities, and policy frameworks that seek to break down systemic barriers to participation.

The Ministry is also hosting interactive sessions with young persons with disabilities to better understand their aspirations, challenges, and perspectives, which will feed into the formulation of more inclusive, responsive policy interventions.

By participating in this landmark event, the Ministry underscores its belief that empowering young people with disabilities through skills, training, and opportunity is not charity—it is development justice. The Ministry is working with key stakeholders to ensure that no young person is left behind in Zimbabwe’s socio-economic transformation.

The Disability Expo has brought together a broad range of actors from government, development agencies, the private sector, and civil society, all united by a shared vision: to build a society where inclusion is the norm, not the exception.

As the Expo continues, the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training remains resolute in its mission to champion equitable access to empowerment pathways for all Zimbabwean youth, regardless of ability—today, and into the future.
