Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry hosts World Tourism Day

Lupane State University is hosting the World Tourism Day Symposium today. The event will be running under the theme “Tourism and Peace.” The symposium brings together stakeholders from the tourism industry, academia, and government to explore the pivotal role tourism plays in promoting peace and conflict resolution.
The event aims to foster dialogue and collaboration among experts, policymakers, and industry stakeholders. By exploring the intersection of tourism and peace, participants will discuss strategies for leveraging tourism as a tool for conflict resolution and community development.
The event will feature a keynote address by the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Hon. Tongai Mnangagwa, representing the Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Hon. Barbara Rwodzi.
Renowned universities from across Zimbabwe will participate, including Chinhoyi University of Technology, Midlands State University, the University of Zimbabwe, and Lupane State University (host).
These institutions will share their expertise and research findings, providing valuable insights into the relationship between tourism and peace.
As Lupane State University hosts this significant symposium, it reinforces Zimbabwe’s commitment to leveraging tourism for peace and development.
