The Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Hon Barbara Rwodzi, delivered a powerful keynote address at the recent tourism forum, aligning the event’s theme, “Unlocking Tourism Investment Opportunities for Economic Development,” with President Mnangagwa’s ambitious vision for Zimbabwe’s economic prosperity.
Minister Rwodzi underscored the forum’s significance in uniting all ten provinces, ensuring that marginalized communities are actively involved in the country’s tourism development.
She highlighted the Ministry’s strategic approach of establishing tourism clusters, tailored to the specific attractions and resources of each province.
This innovative strategy aims to maximize the economic potential of tourism across the nation.
In her speech she said, it is indeed her pleasure and honor to extend a warm welcome to everyone to this 3rd edition of the Zimbabwe Tourism Investment Forum where they have gathered as project promoters including local authorities, investors, financiers, operators, and developers to interact, network and engage and share the vast opportunities abound in this country.
The minister also added that it is a clear signal that the tourism business sector has embraced its share of responsibility in supporting the national blueprint, the National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1), 2021-2025, in line with Vision 2030.
