Late Former VP Phelekezela Mphoko to Be Laid to Rest in Bulawayo

The late former Vice President of Zimbabwe, Phelekezela Mphoko, will be buried at his home in Bulawayo, as per his wish.
This was confirmed by his wife, Laurinda Mphoko, who spoke on behalf of the family and expressed gratitude to the government for honoring her husband’s wish and for their support during this difficult time.
Mphoko passed away on Friday last week at the age of 84, while undergoing medical treatment in India. He served as Vice President of Zimbabwe from 2014 to 2017 and held various diplomatic posts, including Ambassador to South Africa, Russia, and Botswana.
The government declared Mphoko a national hero, recognizing his contributions to Zimbabwe’s liberation and development. His burial will take place at his home in Bulawayo, Plot number 19 Bulawayo Drive, Douglasdale. Further details on the burial will be announced in due course.
