Zimbabwe’s Lady Chevrons Set for Historic ICC Women’s Championship Debut, As Per 2025-2029 Future Tours Programme , with Zimbabwe being added as the 11th Country.
According to the 2025-2029 Future Tours Plan, the Women’s Cricket World Cup will expand to feature 11 teams, with Zimbabwe making its debut for the first time. In this cycle, each team will play against every other team, with four home and four away series. A total of 132 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) will be played across 44 series, with each series consisting of three matches
Zimbabwe will host South Africa, West Indies, Sri Lanka, and Ireland, and will travel to India, New Zealand, Bangladesh, and Pakistan
The upcoming Future Tours Plan reveals an exciting women’s cricket calendar, featuring an International Cricket Council (ICC) tournament each year. Starting in 2025 with the Women’s World Cup, the schedule includes the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in 2026, the inaugural Women’s Champions Trophy in 2027, and another ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in 2028
Meanwhile, Zimbabwe Cricket chairperson Tavengwa Mukuhlani has been named as the Interim chairperson of the African Cricket Association (ACA) , and will lead the body for the next six months .
