The Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo National Foundation and the Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo Museum have appealed to Zimbabwean war veterans to donate historical artifacts to the museum.

The call was made during a recent event hosted by the museum, where war veterans from various backgrounds gathered to share their experiences.

Speaking during the event held at Matshe-amhlophe, Gilbert Mangena, the Project Manager at the JM Museum, emphasized the importance of preserving the nation’s history and added that the museum is also inviting veterans to document their personal stories and biographies.

Jennifer Nkomo, an attendee at the event, expressed the significance of preserving historical artifacts and sharing the stories of the liberation struggle.

Meanwhile the JM Nkomo National Foundation, in collaboration with the Museum of African Liberation, the Russian State University for the Humanities, and the National Gallery of Zimbabwe, has opened the Africa Liberation Archive Exhibition at the National Art Gallery in Bulawayo.

The exhibition showcases a collection of archival photographs and documents related to the training and support provided to Zimbabwe’s ZAPU and ZIPRA forces during the liberation struggle.
