Job Scam Alert: Fake Zimbabwe Embassy Page

Written by on June 26, 2025

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade has issued a warning about a job recruitment scam targeting unsuspecting job seekers.

A fake Facebook page, claiming to be the Zimbabwe Embassy in Kenya, is advertising job offers and demanding a payment of US$375 for an “Africa Regional Labour Accreditation Certificate” as part of the recruitment process.

The Ministry confirms that this Facebook page is not affiliated with the Embassy of Zimbabwe in Kenya, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, or the Government of Zimbabwe. Legitimate recruitment into the public service is conducted through the Public Service Commission, and no payment is required at any stage of the process.

To avoid falling victim to such scams, the Ministry advises the public to verify job offers with the Ministry or relevant Embassies, be cautious of requests for payment as part of the recruitment process and report suspicious activities to the authorities.

The Ministry encourages job seekers to remain vigilant and protect themselves from online scams.
