ICT Minister Welcomes International Telecommunications Union Director

The Minister of Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services, Hon. Tatenda Mavetera, recently hosted Dr. Cosmas Zavazava, Director of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), during a courtesy call. Also present at the meeting were Deputy Minister Hon. Dingumuzi Phuthi and Permanent Secretary Dr. Beaullar Chirume.
In her address, Minister Mavetera outlined Zimbabwe’s current ICT landscape, highlighting recent advancements and ongoing sectoral challenges. She emphasized the government’s commitment to fostering a favorable environment for investment in telecommunications infrastructure, a critical step in achieving a digital economy by 2030.
Mavetera also underscored the importance of strengthening partnerships with international organizations like the ITU to drive digital transformation and foster economic growth in Zimbabwe.
