Two game rangers from Hwange have been arrested for allegedly supplying over 70 kilograms of impala meat to local restaurants in violation of the Parks and Wildlife Act.
Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority (Zimparks) spokesperson Tinashe Farawo confirmed the arrests, adding that the suspects are set to appear in court soon.
The incident highlights the persistent challenge of wildlife trafficking and corruption within conservation. However, it also underscores Zimparks’ efforts to expose and eliminate rogue elements to protect Zimbabwe’s natural heritage for future generations.
