Highlanders Triumph in Battle of Cities, Chicken Inn Stuns Dynamos as MWOS leads the pack

Highlanders ended their three-game winless streak with a crucial 1-0 victory over CAPS United in the “Battle of the Cities” clash match that was played at Barbourfields Stadium yesterday.

Reason “Rebbo” Sibanda’s early goal, just three minutes into the match, proved decisive, securing three vital points for Bosso.

Sibanda capitalized on a pinpoint pass from Brighton Ncube, sending the Highlanders faithful into raptures. The win propelled Highlanders to fifth place in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League standings, with nine points. Meanwhile CAPS United’s woes continued, as they now find themselves in the relegation zone, having failed to secure a point in their last three outings.

In other games played yesterday, Dynamos suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Chicken Inn. Brian Muza’s goal was the difference, handing Chicken Inn their first victory of the season and adding to Dynamos’ early-season struggles.

MWOS climbed to the top of the league table with 14 points, following a narrow 1-0 win over Herentals at Wadzanayi Stadium in Shamva. Their impressive start to the season has positioned them as early contenders for the title.
