The Zimbabwe Council of Churches (ZCC) has called on the nation to reflect on the values of freedom, sacrifice, and hope as the country celebrates both Independence Day and Easter this week.

In a statement, the Council emphasized the spiritual and historical weight carried by the two events, urging citizens to honor the sacrifices made for national liberation and the message of renewal brought by Christ’s resurrection.

It said Independence Day serves as a reminder of Zimbabwe’s journey to sovereignty and the heroes who laid down their lives for freedom, while Easter symbolizes the ultimate act of love and sacrifice through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

ZCC further called for unity, reconciliation, and the empowerment of young people to take an active role in shaping the country’s future.
