The Siyankaba irrigation scheme is set to host a groundbreaking ceremony on August 25th at Vulindlela village, Kachechete ward. This significant event aims to mark the beginning of a transformative project that will enhance agricultural productivity in the region.

The Siyankaba irrigation scheme, covering 42 hectares, seeks support from the public in the form of essential resources. Specifically, they are appealing for donations of jojo tanks, boreholes, and food supplies. These contributions are crucial for the scheme’s success as they strive to provide sustainable water access and nourishment for their agricultural endeavours.

Sizani Moyo, Secretary of the Siyankaba irrigation scheme, emphasized the importance of these donations. With only 2.5 hectares currently fenced, the scheme relies on community support to expand its reach. Mrs. Moyo highlighted that these contributions will play a pivotal role in achieving their goal of supplying Victoria Falls Hotels with fresh, locally grown vegetables.

Notably, the primary donors behind the Siyankaba irrigation Scheme, Khumbulani Tshambo and Mr Gilbert have been instrumental in its success. Their commitment underscores the collaborative effort needed to create lasting impact in the community.
