The Ministry of Agriculture has distributed 880 state-of-the-art 5G tablets to Agricultural Extension Officers and Supervisors in Matabeleland North and South provinces as part of efforts to modernize Zimbabwe’s agricultural sector.

Permanent Secretary Professor Dr. Obert Jiri said the initiative aims to enhance agricultural efficiency and productivity. The tablets will enable extension officers to access critical information, communicate effectively with farmers, and provide real-time support to improve farming practices.

By equipping officers with advanced technology, the government seeks to boost food security and revolutionize agriculture in Matabeleland and beyond.

The initiative is expected to significantly transform agricultural production in the region and contribute to the country’s long-term food security goals.
