Five victims identified in fatal Harare-Bulawayo bus crash

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has released the names of five individuals who tragically lost their lives in a horrific bus accident along the Harare-Bulawayo highway on Sunday morning.

The fatal collision occurred around 3:30 am when an Inter-Africa bus carrying 43 passengers collided with a stationary Freightliner truck. The impact of the crash resulted in the deaths of seven people, with five of them now identified.

The deceased have been named as Mutanga Brian, Manyise Madubeko, Ncube Sinqobile (43), Muchemwa Matienga (62), and Mafukidze Edmen Collin (39). The ZRP is appealing to the public for assistance in identifying the remaining two victims.

In addition to the fatalities, 22 passengers sustained injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment at provincial hospitals.

As the festive season approaches, the ZRP has urged motorists to exercise extreme caution on the roads, by adhering to traffic regulations, avoid speeding, and be mindful of other road users.
