Zim welcomes IOM Director-General in landmark visit

President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa yesterday welcomed the Director-General of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), Miss. Amy Pope, to State House in Harare. This historic visit marks the first time an IOM Director-General has visited Zimbabwe in 73 years.

The visit also coincided with International Immigration Day, highlighting the importance of migration management and cooperation in the globe.

Speaking on her visit, Miss Pope said that this visit marks an important milestone in their cooperation with Zimbabwe, stating that she looks forward to working together with the government to promote safe and orderly migration.

During her three-day working visit, Ms. Pope will meet with government leaders, migrants, and host communities to discuss key migration issues and identify opportunities for cooperation.
